Story of architect who use ‘Takumi no Toyu’ and 純正荏油 ‘Pure É-abura’
When we were commissioned to design a mountain villa, we were told that one of the family member had allergies and requested countermeasures. We chose natural materials wherever possible and used wood for the external and internal finishing materials.
As a result of using safe natural oiling 「荏油」’É-abura’ for all wood surfaces, the family is now living in a healthy and comfortable space.
We also used 「荏油」’É-abura’ for a kindergarten in Nagoya City. Although it slightly takes time to dry than ordinary organic solvent-based oilings, the appeal of safe natural oiling for kindergatens where small children spend most of the time during the day is even greater, and we believe it is a suitable material for creating spaces for people.
