This oil is composed of medium-chain fatty acids (MCT), which are extracted from the endosperm (the kernel part of the fruit) of the palm tree, fractionated and refined for fatty acids.
Because of its rapid digestion and absorption, it has been used mainly in the medical field, for example, in the treatment of post-operative patients and children for nutritional supplements, and in the treatment of patients with familial cholesterolaemia.
It is used as an oil base material in cosmetics and cream products due to its excellent spreadability on the skin, low viscosity and smooth texture. It also has excellent solubility with pigments and is used in lipsticks.
