This oil is extracted and refined from perilla seeds using a pressing process.
Anti-oxidants are added to improve stability. Perilla is an annual herbaseous plant of the perilla family, with leaves very similar to those of Japanese green shiso. Perilla is believed to have originated in the Indian highlands and the highlands of Yunnan Province, China, from where it is said to have entered China, Korea and Japan.
