Rapeseed is a member of the Brassicaceae family and is known for its yellow flower. It is believed to be native to western Asia and northern Europe and has a long history of being cultivated as a vegetable and oil crop. It is said to have been introduced to Japan after Yayoi period (10th to 3rd century BC).
