Carefully selected rapeseed seeds are roasted and pressed using traditional methods to bring out the natural sweetness and aroma of rapeseed oil. It is ideal for deep-frying and pork cutlets (tonkatsu).
What is ‘Aka-mizu’?Normally, oils become transparent when refined. On the other hand, the oil produced by a process that preserves the colour and flavour of roasted rapeseed has been known as ‘aka-mizu’ since the Edo period because of its fragrant and distinctive colour.
First-pressed oil made from carefully selected rapeseed seeds, pressed using the traditional method. This oil is ideal for stir-frying.
What is rapeseed?It is a member of brassicaceae family and it blooms in spring with small pretty yellow flowers. Rapeseed oil is pressed from rapeseed seeds.

What is flaxseed?Flaxseed is the seed of the ‘flax’ plant, which looks and tastes similar to sesame seeds. It originated in the Mediterranean region of Europe and is said to be one of the first plants cultivated by mankind.
Flaxseed is rich in alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid, dietary fibre and lignans.
*NOTE: Flaxseed oil does not contain dietary fibres.
What is n-3 fatty acid (omega-3 fatty acid)?It is one of the nutrients that is often lacking in modern diets, and is abundantly found in flaxseed oil, えごま油 and blue-backed fish (e.g. mackerel). They are known as ‘essential fatty acids’ but they cannot be produced in the body and must be taken from food despite being a necessary nutrient for the body.
